About Chrono

Chrono is a daily history puzzle that challenges you to arrange six events from earliest to latest. You have only three attempts, so every mistaken century can push your timeline closer to disaster. Put the events in chronological order in 3 tries or less.

Chrono is free to play in your browser — no download and no account needed. Like every good daily game it serves everyone the same challenge each day, so you can compare results with friends and keep your streak alive. Come back tomorrow for a fresh round.

What is Chrono?

Chrono drops six historical events onto your screen and asks one dangerous question: what happened first? Your mission is to drag the events into chronological order, beginning with the earliest and ending with the most recent. The descriptions may look familiar, but the timeline is rarely as obvious as it seems. Inventions arrived earlier than people remember, famous events overlap in surprising ways, and one misplaced card can ruin an otherwise perfect sequence. You receive only three attempts, turning a quick history quiz into a compact battle against time, memory, and confidently incorrect guesses.

Chrono Game Rules

  1. Drag and reorder: Move the event cards until you believe the complete timeline is correct.
  2. Check the entire sequence: Press Check Answers to submit your arrangement.
  3. Three attempts only: Each check uses one of your three available tries.
  4. Green means exact: A green event is sitting in its correct final position. It does not merely mean that the event is approximately early or late.
  5. Unmarked positions remain dangerous: Rearrange the unresolved events while preserving any placements you trust.
  6. Solve before the third check: Complete the timeline to win and record your result, time, and streak.

How To Play Chrono?

Step 1: Inspect the shuffled history Events shown: Moon landing | Declaration of Independence | First iPhone | Gutenberg Bible | World Wide Web proposal | First powered flight Look for obvious anchors. The Gutenberg Bible belongs near the beginning, while the first iPhone belongs near the end. Step 2: Build your first timeline Player arranges: Gutenberg Bible → Declaration of Independence → First powered flight → Moon landing → First iPhone → World Wide Web proposal Player action: Press Check Answers. Step 3: Read the positional feedback Result: 🟩 Gutenberg Bible 🟩 Declaration of Independence 🟩 First powered flight 🟩 Moon landing ⬜ First iPhone ⬜ World Wide Web proposal What this means: The first four events occupy their exact correct slots. The final two events are reversed. Step 4: Repair the timeline Player swaps: World Wide Web proposal ↔ First iPhone Final order: Gutenberg Bible → Declaration of Independence → First powered flight → Moon landing → World Wide Web proposal → First iPhone Press Check Answers again. The timeline turns correct, history survives, and the daily puzzle is complete.

Chrono Strategy & Tips

Start by identifying the oldest and newest events rather than solving every date immediately. Strong endpoint anchors shrink the number of possible arrangements for everything in between. Treat green positions as hard evidence. Avoid moving a correctly placed event unless you are certain you misunderstood the feedback, and focus each remaining attempt on the unresolved cards. When exact dates escape you, compare eras and dependencies. An invention must precede the product built from it, a war may occur before the treaty that ended it, and a cultural event may be tied to a technology that had to exist first.
