About TimeLine Game

TimeLine is a daily history puzzle that gives you five events and dares you to arrange them from earliest to latest. It is a fast, deceptively difficult test of whether your mental map of history actually holds together.

TimeLine Game is free to play in your browser — no download and no account needed. Like every good daily game it serves everyone the same challenge each day, so you can compare results with friends and keep your streak alive. Come back tomorrow for a fresh round.

What is Timeline?

TimeLine drops five historical moments onto the screen with their dates hidden and asks you to rebuild the past. Your mission is simple to understand but dangerous to attempt: drag every event into chronological order, beginning with the earliest and ending with the most recent. The events can come from different centuries, regions, and civilizations, so memorizing one corner of history will not save you. A medieval battle may sit beside an ancient conquest and a modern political turning point. TimeLine is quick enough for a daily break, yet ruthless enough to expose every date you only thought you knew.

Timeline Game Rules

  1. Five historical events: Every challenge presents a set of five moments from the past.
  2. Earliest to latest: Arrange the complete lineup in chronological order.
  3. Drag and drop: Move each event card until the sequence looks correct.
  4. Check the whole timeline: Select Check Order when you are ready to test your arrangement.
  5. One shared daily challenge: A new set of events appears each day.
  6. No exact dates required to start: You can solve by comparing eras and relative order, even when the precise years escape you.

How To Play Timeline?

Step 1: Inspect the shuffled events Cards shown: Moon landing | Magna Carta | First powered flight | Printing press | World Wide Web proposal Do not immediately start dragging. First identify the safest anchors: Magna Carta is the oldest candidate, while the Web proposal belongs near the modern end. Step 2: Build a rough timeline Player arranges: Magna Carta → Printing press → First powered flight → World Wide Web proposal → Moon landing The broad eras look reasonable, but the final pair deserves another look. Step 3: Challenge the suspicious section Player notices: Moon landing: 1960s World Wide Web proposal: late 1980s What this means: The Moon landing MUST come before the Web proposal. Revised order: Magna Carta → Printing press → First powered flight → Moon landing → World Wide Web proposal Step 4: Check the complete order Press Check Order and let TimeLine judge the entire sequence. Result: The five events now run cleanly from the medieval world through the digital age. The daily timeline survives, and your historical instincts live to fight tomorrow.

Timeline Strategy & Tips

Start with the events you know most confidently. Placing the oldest and newest cards first creates boundaries that make the middle positions easier to solve. Think in broad eras before chasing exact years: Ancient → Medieval → Early Modern → Industrial → Modern Use cause and dependency when dates fail you. An invention must exist before a later technology can use it, and a treaty usually follows the conflict it resolves. Finally, reread the complete sequence before checking. TimeLine is often lost not because every card is wrong, but because two neighboring events have quietly traded places.
