What is Neighborle?

Neighborle is a daily geography puzzle where you are shown one country or territory and must name all of its neighboring countries or territories. Instead of guessing a hidden country from distance clues, the challenge is to know which places share borders with the featured location. It is fun because it tests practical map knowledge in a focused way. Some countries have obvious neighbors, while others are tricky because of small borders, bridges, disputed areas, islands, or regional versions that ask for states, counties, or regions.

Neighborle Game Rules

  1. Each daily puzzle gives you one featured country or territory.
  2. Your task is to select every neighboring country or territory from a dropdown list.
  3. Two countries are treated as neighbors if they share a land border or are connected by a bridge.
  4. You start with 5 lives.
  5. A wrong guess costs 1 life, so you can make only a few mistakes.
  6. You can use a hint that gives four options, with one correct neighbor included.
  7. Using a hint costs 1 life, and choosing the wrong hint answer can cost another life.
  8. You can hide borders in settings to make the puzzle harder.
  9. The main game is daily, while some regional versions offer unlimited play.
  10. The puzzle is solved when you correctly identify all neighbors before running out of lives.

How To Play Neighborle?

1. Player Action: Look at the featured country or territory. Game Response: Neighborle shows the daily location on the map. What You Learn: You know which place you need to analyze for shared borders. 2. Player Action: Think of countries or territories that touch it by land or bridge. Game Response: The dropdown lets you choose a possible neighbor. What You Learn: You must rely on border knowledge, not distance or direction feedback. 3. Player Action: Select a neighbor from the dropdown. Game Response: A correct answer is added to the solved list; a wrong answer costs a life. What You Learn: Each selection confirms whether your border memory is accurate. 4. Player Action: Use a hint if you are stuck. Game Response: The game shows four possible options, one of which is a correct neighbor, but the hint costs a life. What You Learn: Hints can rescue a puzzle, but they reduce your safety margin. 5. Player Action: Continue until every neighbor is found. Game Response: Neighborle completes the puzzle when all bordering countries or territories are selected. What You Learn: The final board reinforces how the featured location connects to the map around it.

Strategy & Tips

  1. Start with the largest and most obvious neighbors before thinking about tiny borders.
  2. Check whether the featured place has enclaves, overseas territories, bridge connections, or unusual border cases.
  3. For European, Balkan, African, and Central Asian countries, slow down because many borders are close together.
  4. Use the map shape and surrounding region to mentally move clockwise around the country.
  5. Save hints for the final missing neighbor rather than using them too early.
  6. If borders are visible, use them to confirm small connections; if hidden, rely on memory for a harder challenge.
  7. Remember that Neighborle may include territories, not only fully independent countries.
